Liebster Award

liebster award

Thank you so much to Jennifer Durrans for nominating my blog for the Liebster Award. Here is what she said: http://www.haamiyah.com ‘Language. Culture. Travel. Growth’ – one of the newest blogs I’ve nominated but has such potential and really sweet writings!

I’m so touched that my two-week-old blog is being noticed. Here are the answers to the questions which Jennifer had set out for me.

1. Where is your favourite place to be in the world and why?

Scuba-diving at the mercy of the ocean, feeling completely relaxed.

2. What excites you the most about blogging?

It’s given me a platform to share my story and I’m so excited to watch my blog evolve! I can’t wait to share my tales with like-minded individuals and to encourage debate and discussion.

3. If you had to choose one colour to wear for the rest of your life what would it be?

Plum!

4. How do you relax and wind down after a long day?

I put on my PJs and have a cup of tea on the couch!

5. What is the funniest thing that has ever happened to you?

On my 29th birthday, when I was convinced that my now-fiance was going to propose to me (after three and a half years!), he actually gave me a small gift-wrapped box of earrings! It wasn’t funny at the time, but looking back, I think it’s hilarious!

6. How do you schedule your blogging around your life?

I make notes on my mobile as soon as ideas spring to mind, then I write them up in the evenings.

7. What do you look for in other people’s blogs?

I look for opinions, perspectives and inspiration from out-of-comfort-zone experiences.

8. What are you doing this evening?

Cooking spaghetti bolognese!

9. What is your favourite animal and why?

I love wild cats! Anything from tigers, lions, cheetahs and jaguars. I find them fascinating for their hunting skills, survival skills and ability to establish their territory.

10. If you weren’t blogging, what would you be doing?

I would be boring everyone with my stories and opinions in conversations!

If someone had told me last year that I would be blogging, I probably would not have believed them. But I am so glad to be a blogger and I would love to connect with people who have shared the same experiences as me. I would also love to, one day, be a voice for those who don’t have the confidence or resources to blog.
